MRS. BEESON IS DEAD AT 89; RITES SATURDAY

Mrs. Ava M. Beeson, 89, died at 1:15 a.m. at the Iowa Soldiers Home hospital where she had been a patient for 23 months. Death was of arterio sclerosis. She was born May 1, 1863 at Libertyville, the daughter of Mace and Louisa J. Clarridge. She was married at Libertyville to James B. Pickard on March 9, 1884 and he died in 1906, a month after they moved to Marshalltown. She was married to W. B. Beeson on Nov. 5, 1910 in Marshalltown and he died Aug. 30, 1933. Surviving are two sons, Roy W. Pickard, Minneapolis, and Clyde C. Pickard of Rio Linda, Calif., five grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Ella Pratt, Davenport; Mrs. Lettie McKever, Wymore, Neb., and Mrs. L. B. Bardwell, Abilene, Kan. A son died in infancy. Mrs. Beeson has been a member of the Friends Church for more than 60 years. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Pursel Funeral Home with the Rev. A. Otto Bishop in charge. Burial will be in the cemetery at Pleasant Plain.
