MRS. FRELAND DEAD AT 81; RITES MONDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. John Freland, 81, State Center, who died Saturday morning at the Evangelical Hospital where she had been a patient for the last five weeks, will be from the First Presbyterian Church in Marshalltown at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. C. Wayne Overholser will be in charge. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Mrs. Freland was born Nov. 4, 1874 at Collins, the daughter of John and Jane Dare Jones. She grew up and received her education in the rural schools of the Collins community. IN 1891 SHE was married to John P. Freland at Patterson, Mo. They settled on a farm seven miles southwest of State Center where she had since lived. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by one son, three brothers, seven sisters and a granddaughter. SURVIVING BESIDES the widower are six sons and three daughters, John Ernest of Green Mountain, Russell and Mrs. G. L. Gilson of Marshalltown, Mrs. Edith Alexander of Rhodes, Lindsay of Collins, and William Earl, Stephen, James P. and Minnie Jane, all of State Center. Two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Regan of Weatherford, Okla., and Mrs. Sarah Freland, Albia, twenty-six grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren also survive. Friends may call at the Wensel Funeral Home until Sunday noon and at the family home until time of services.
