Mrs. Joseph Lang, 73, Haverhill, died at 6 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Hospital. St. Monica's Society will say the Rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday at Avey Funeral Home, and public Rosaries will be at 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 p.m. Monday there. Solemn High Mass will be read at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church at Haverhill, with burial in Haverhill Cemetery. MRS. LANG was born Nov. 2, 1884, at St. Petersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Stangel Westendorf. She was married to Joseph Lang Sept. 24, 1904, in Haverhill, and the couple lived at New Hampton from 1910 to 1920, when they returned to Haverhill to farm. She is survived by the widower; five sons, Elmer and George of Marshalltown, Joe of State Center, Sylvester of Haverhill and Lawrence of Malcom, and six daughters, Mrs. Joe Richards of Marshalltown, Mrs. Clem Freese of Melbourne, Mrs. Clarence Boyer of Red Oak, Mrs. John Haaf of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Ed Klosterman of Rhodes and Mrs. Antonio Banzuelo in Japan. OTHER SURVIVORS include a sister, Mrs. Joseph Kopel of Parkston, S.D., and two brothers, Henry Westendorf of Smithland and Fred Westendorf of Geddes, S.D. Also 47 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren survive. Mrs. Lang was preceded in death by a daughter, two sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Lang was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, St. Monica's Society and the Rosarian Study Club.
