CHRIS OLSEN, DIES AT 62

Chris M. Olsen, 62, 510 N. 1st St., died at Evangelical hospital Friday morning where he had been a patient since Nov. 1. Born Aug. 2, 1893 in Lokken, Denmark, he was the son of Ole and Johanna Jensen Olsen. He received his education in Denmark and came to America and settled in Marshalltown. He was employed in the freight and baggage department of the Chicago North Northwestern Railroad. MR. OLSEN was a member of the Grace Evangelical U-B Church. He served in World War I with the Army, and was a member of the Frank Lewis Glick Post No. 46. On Aug. 18, 1929 he was united in marriage to Alice Bond at Tama and the couple had resided in Marshalltown since that time. Preceding him in death were two sisters and a brother. SURVIVING ARE his widow, a son, Eugene, stationed at Camp Carson, Colorado Springs, Colo. Also surviving are a grandson and two brothers, Martin of State Center and Krasten in Denmark. Arrangements are pending at the Estel-Perrin Funeral Home.
