Liscomb---(Special)---Mrs. Fred Elliott, 56, who has been in failing health for the past four years, died at her home Wednesday evening at 7:45. Death was caused by Parkinson's disease. She was born Vesta L. Rand May 21, 1891, in Green county, the daughter of Frank and Laura Rand. When she was seven years old the family moved to Oklahoma. She was graduated from the seminary at Hooker, Okla., and taught in the Oklahoma schools for 11 years. TAUGHT AT ALBION The family moved to Marshalltown in 1922 and she taught for four years in the Albion school before her marriage on Sept. 21, 1926, to Fred Elliott. They lived in Marshalltown for a time and then moved to LaMoille where they resided for seven years. They farmed at Boone, Stratford and Winterset and last year returned to Liscomb because of Mrs. Elliott's health. Mrs. Elliott was always active in all branches of religious work and was a member of the First Baptist church in Stratford and the Rebekah lodge. FUNERAL SATURDAY Surviving are the widower, he mother, Mrs. Laura Rand of Marshalltown, a brother Ross of Woodward, two stepchildren, Dale Elliott of Ames and Mrs. Lloyd Bailey of Rockford, Ill. There are also two stepgrandchildren. The body is at the Biersborn funeral home in Union and will be brought to the home Saturday where a short prayer service will be held at 1:30 followed by services at 2 o'clock at the Christian church in charge of Rev. George Biersborn assisted by the Rev. T. M. Walton. Burial will be in the Liscomb cemetery.
