Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Diesing went to Tama Tuesday to attend funeral services for David Edwin Alexander, former Marshall county pioneer resident, who died at the home of his son, Jesse Alexander at Toledo. Mr. Alexander was born in Marshall county June 24, 1855. He married Ellen Dunn Jan. 1, 1878. They were the parents of 13 children, nine of whom died in infancy. Mrs. Alexander died about 15 years ago and one son, Charles, died four years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Alexander lived in Greencastle township and in the Ferguson community for a great many years. For the past few years Mr. Alexander had made his home with his son. Surviving are another son, Fred of Tama, and a daughter, Mrs. Oscar Bush of Tama. Services were held at the Harris funeral home in Tama and burial was in the Timber Creek cemetery south of Marshalltown.
