ROY MASMAR DIES FOLLOWING HEART SEIZURE

Roy A. Masmar, 71, 9 Lackey Terrace died at the Mercy Hospital at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, where he had been a patient following a heart attack Friday. Born July 13, 1883, at Williamstown, Mo., son of John W. and Sarah Elizabeth Masmar, the family moved to Farmington, where he received his education and grew to manhood. ON MAY 3, 1919, he was married to Ethel Hughes Prior. The couple established their home in Ottumwa and came to Marshalltown 35 years ago. For the past 30 years he had lived in the present home. Mr. Masmar had been employed by the Fisher Governor Co., for 22 years until retiring in 1948. He was a member of the Central Christian Church and attended Everyman's Bible Class. Preceding him in death were two sisters and a brother. SURVIVING ARE his widow and an only son, David, of Marshalltown. Also surviving are two grandsons, John Eric and David Kent, along with a sister and brother, Miss Anna Masmar of Farmington and John of Walnut Creek, Calif., and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held from the Central Christian Church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in charge of the Rev. Orval E. Walker, pastor. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Estel-Perrin Funeral Home through Monday evening.
