Mrs. Harvey Thompson, 79, lifelong resident of the Rhodes community died at 3 p.m., Sunday at the Mercy Hospital in Marshalltown where she had been a patient for seven weeks. She was born Nina R. Burger, June, 9, 1875 at Rhodes the daughter of Henry and Rebekah Smith Burger. She grew up and received her education in the Rhodes schools. On July 25, 1900 she was united in marriage to Harvey Thompson at Marshalltown and with the exception of two years the couple had spent its entire married life in the Rhodes community. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Methodist Church at Rhodes and Rebekah Lodge No. 362. Surviving are the widower and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held from the Rhodes Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday in charge of the Rev. E. H. Shuey, pastor. Burial will be in the Eden Cemetery at Rhodes in charge of the Rebekah Lodge No. 362. Friends may call at the Wensel Funeral Home in State Center until 9:30 p.m. Monday. Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers and two sisters. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
