MRS. BARBARA ANDERSON DIES TUESDAY AT HOME OF HER DAUGHTER IN UNION

Mrs. Barbara Anderson, 83, longtime Marshall county resident, died late Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. R. Heryford in Union. She had been in ill health for several years and bedfast since last February. Death was of heart disease. Mrs. Anderson was born Barbara Krughel, Jan. 11, 1866 in Bohemia, the daughter of Charles and Mary Krughel. She came to the United States as a child and has been a resident of Marshall county since that time. In 1885 she was married to Hans Anderson and he died Feb. 18, 1838. She was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are four daughters and a son, Mrs. R. E. Shelton, Mrs. Cornelius Thompson and Mrs. Joe Specht all of Marshalltown, Mrs. J. R. Heryford of Union and Alvin H. Anderson of Chicago, Ill. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister John Krughel of LeGrand, Frank Krughel of Clinton and Mrs. John Hanson of Marshalltown. Nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. Her husband, a son, and two daughters preceded her in death. Services will be at the Estel funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in charge of Rev. A. J. Kindred. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hll cemetery north of LeGrand.
