SERVICES SET SATURDAY FOR MRS. EARLY

Mrs. Emma Early, 93, 107 N. 9th St., died at Sherman Nursing Home where she had been a patient since last May. Born Aug. 15, 1871, in Virginia she was the daughter of William and Mary Judson. When she was young the family moved to Mahaska County, Iowa, at Buxton, where they resided until coming to Marshalltown when she was nine years old. She completed her education in the Marshalltown schools. IN 1897 she was married to William H. Flippings and he preceded her in death. In 1932 she was married to Quincy Early and they had always made their home in Marshalltown where Mr. Early died in 1955. Mrs. Early was a member of the Second Baptist Church, past worthy Matron of Excelsior Chapter No. 12, OES and the last surviving charter member of that group. SURVIVING IS a foster son who was reared in her home, Harold Flippings of Omaha, Neb., and two grandchildren. Also surviving are three nieces and one nephew, Mrs. Daisy Washington, Mrs. Mabel Brown and Frank F. Johnson, all of Marshalltown, and Mrs. Pansy Washington, Aurora, Ill. Services will be from the chapel of Estel-Perrin Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. W. R. Fields of Des Moines in charge. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
