Gilman---(Special)---Mrs. W. H. Vosburg, 82, an old resident of Gilman, died at 8:58 p.m. Thursday at her home here of coronary thrombosis. She had been in failing health for the last seven years, but had not been confined to her bed all of that time. She became worse a few days ago, but death came rather suddenly. Mrs. Vosburg was born Mary J. McClure, April 2, 1857, at Urbana, Iowa, one of eight children of Mr. and Mrs. James McClure. When she was six months old the family moved to the neighborhood of LeGrand and on Dec. 22, 1881 she was married to William H. Vosburg. They lived on a farm east of Gilman for a year, then at Grand Forks, N.D., for three years, returning to the farm near Gilman in 1885. In 1896 they moved to Gilman and Mr. Vosburg entered the lumber business. Mr. and Mrs. Vosburg observed their golden wedding Dec. 22, 1931, and Mr. Vosburg died Aug. 18, 1932. She is survived by a daughter, Miss Fannie Vosburg who lived with her mother but is in business in Marshalltown; a son, Glen Vosburg of Gilman; one sister, Mrs. Florence Gannon of Ames, and four grandchildren. Another son Lester, died in February 1916. Another grandchild, Stanley Vosburg, died in May, 1935. Mrs. Vosburg was a charter member of Onyx chapter, O.E.S., of Gilman and a past worthy matron of the order. She was also a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem of Marshalltown. Early in life she united with the Christian church in LeGrand and since living in Gilman she had been a member of the Community Church Guild here. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the home in charge of Rev. Russell Phillips of Northwood. Burial will be in Prairie View cemetery here.
