ARCHIE LEMMON DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Archie V. Lemmon, 61, an employee of the M. & St. L for 35 years died at his home, 509 South Third street, Saturday evening at 6:16 after an illness of one month. He suffered a heart attack in Oskaloosa a month ago at the end of his run there, but he had not been too well for over a year. His death was due to heart disease. Mr. Lemmon was born in this city, Nov. 23, 1885, the son of Wilson and Margaret Lemmon. He lived here all of his life and he was married on July 5, 1918, to Dora Glenz in Des Moines. He first worked as a molder at the Lennox Machine company, and in November 1912 he went to work for the M. & St. L. He was an engineer at the time of his death and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen. Mr. Lemmon is survived by his widow and three children, Margaret, Arthur, and Charles Lemmon, all at home. Two other children died in infancy. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. F. G. Livesay of Washington, Mrs. W. C. Drury, George Lemmon, Lierle Lemmon and Mrs. James Dempsey, all of this city. Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Pursel funeral home in charge of Rev. C. L. Smith of Nevada. Burial will be in Riverside.
