MRS. MARY HAWKINS DIES EARLY SATURDAY

Mrs. Mary Jane Hawkins, 1112 North Third avenue, died at her home at 3 a.m. Saturday after an illness of three months. She had been in failing health for the past 10 years. Born Mary Jane Madison, June 1, 1864, at Fairfield, she moved with her parents to a farm near Oskaloosa where she grew to womanhood, marrying Molton N. Hawkins Oct. 6, 1886. They came to this city in 1906. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Frank Hawkins of Des Moines, Glen and Rena Hawkins of this city; one sister, Mrs. Nash Logue of Beacon, one brother, J. C. Madison of Compton, Calif.; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Hawkins died in this city Dec. 16, 1936. Two brothers preceded her in death and a daughter, Mrs. E. M. Godden, died June 6, 1908. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of the Methodist church of this city.
