PERRY A. MOORE, EARLY COUNTY SETTLER, DIES

Perry A. Moore, an early settler of Marshall county, died Dec. 16 at his home in Franklin county, according to word received here Monday. Attending the funeral from here last Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Drury and Mrs. Wayne Reed of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hatch of Bangor, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Richards of Albion, Mrs. Mae Drury of Liscomb and Mrs. Mae Richards of LeGrand. Mr. Moore was born in Ohio Aug. 24, 1865. When he was 6 months old his parents started to Iowa in a covered wagon, arriving in 1866 and settling on a farm four miles east of Marshalltown, now occupied by Henry Rank. In March, 1890, he married Linnie Richards of Marion township and they moved to Cerro Gordo county in 1891 and later to Franklin county where he spent the rest of his life. Mrs. Moore died in July, 1944. They were the parents of four children, Ray and W. S. Moore of Sheffield, Ralph of Nora Springs, Mrs. Oscar Hanson of Cedar Falls and C. A. Moore on the home farm. Mr. Moore is the last of his immediate family, but is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Maude Gimre of Marshalltown, Mrs. Mae Drury of Liscomb and others in California, Canada and Iowa.
