Rosemary Hutchison, 88, of Grinnell, died on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 4, 2013, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with Rev. Bonnie Koeppen, pastor of the Malcom Methodist Church, officiating. Organist will be Denise Baustian. Casket Bearers will be Matthew Puls, Marc Hutchison, Michael Hutchison, Scott Saunders, Gerald Baltisberger and Joe Neville. Honorary Bearers will be Lori Vogeler, Terri Behling, Kristi Saunders, Amy Dodd, Addy Hutchison and Jennifer Puls. Interment will be at the Ivy Hill Cemetery near Malcom.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home beginning 12 noon on Sunday and the family will be present at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Rosemary was born on October 14, 1924, in Des Moines, Iowa to Jack and Marie Gammell Robison. When Rosemary was 8 years old, her mother passed away. At the age of 9, she moved to Grinnell to be raised by her Aunt Jessie and Uncle Roy Cole. Rosemary graduated from Grinnell High School with the Class of 1943.

On March 13, 1943, she was united in marriage to Claire Hutchison in Lancaster, Missouri. Rosemary was a longtime member of the Malcom United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School, Bible School and sang in the church choir. She also belonged to the United Methodist Women and the neighborhood Worth While Club. Along with helping her husband on the farm near Malcom, Rosemary worked as a tax preparer with the Goodwin Tax Service in Grinnell for almost twenty years.

Rosemary was a devoted mother of five children and cherished time with her family. After the children were grown she and Claire enjoyed traveling and attending local dances. They moved to Seeland Park in 1995, to enjoy their retirement years.

Rosemary is survived by her children, Pam (Earl) Kinnaird of Grinnell, David (Rebecca) Hutchison of Marshalltown, Jo Anne (Joe) Puls of Montezuma, James Hutchison of Maryville, TN and John Hutchison of Rock Island, IL; nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
