Taylor, Former Resident, Dies

Donald E. Taylor, former Jefferson County resident, died Tuesday night at his home in Marshalltown. He had been hospitalized in Minneapolis until a few weeks ago.

Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown.

Taylor was the son of Clifford E. and Emma Gardner Taylor. He was born and reared in the Glasgow Community and operated the store there at one time.

Taylor had served as Marshalltown mayor and president of the Chamber of Commerce. He owned and operated a number of Maid-Rite restaurants.

Surviving are his widow, one daughter and three grandchildren.
