KATHRYN "KAY" PARLANTE, 88

Kathryn "Kay' M. Parlante, 88, of Hillsboro died at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Hillsboro Area Hospital in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday, July 29, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro with the Very Rev. James L. Neuman, V.F. pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Hillsboro, officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in Hillsboro. Mrs. Parlante was born in Marshalltown, IA, on March 29, 1925, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Mary (Schinoke) Morgan. She married Dr. Vincent J. Parlante in Pensacola, FL, on June 21, 1947, and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1994. During her lifetime she lived in Pensacola, FL, California, Richmond, VA, Arizona and Hillsboro. She graduated from high school and received her nurses training in Pensacola, FL. A registered nurse, Mrs. Parlante was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro and the Hillsboro Country Club Board. She was very active in ladies golf and the Hillsboro Area Hospital auxiliary. She is survived by three sons, John Parlante of Atlanta, GA, Jim Parlante of San Francisco, CA, and Dr. Joseph Parlante of Madison, WI; daughter, Patricia Hise of Oak Park; grandchild, Joshua Hise of Chicago; sister, Betty Flynn of Pensacola, FL; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Parlante was preceded in death by two brothers. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Condolences may be sent online at basspattondeanfh.com.
