Howard "Bob" Lee Strohm died October 24, 2011 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center (MMSC).

Born July 29, 1919 near Weldon IA.
Graduated from Weldon High School in 1938.
Baptized in Weldon Christian Church. Later became member of Bethany United Methodist Church.

Veteran of WWII, serving four years in the African and Italian campaigns.
One of the greatest experiences of his life was the "Honor Flight" trip to Washington DC for WWII veterans, to visit the WWII Memorial.

Married Joanne Landis June 1, 1947 at Weldon Methodist Church, Weldon IA. They lived in Marshalltown and at Holiday Lake.

In 1979 Scott Cutting, a the age of 13, joined their family.

Employed at Mickel's Furniture and later at Fisher Controls, retiring in 1982.
Former member of American Legion, UAW 893 and Lincoln Valley Golf Course.
Bob loved life and enjoyed hard work, golfing, children and dogs.

Survived by: wife of 64 years, Jody; Scott (Jessica) Cutting; granddaughters, Ashlynne and Brooklyn; brother Gene Strohm of Marshalltown; sisters-in-law, Jerry Cory of Akron OH, Nancy Hendrickson of Grinnell IA; and Skip and Mary Lou Landis of West Field MA; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and (Angle Friends) Glen and Lynn Smool and Frank and Dorothy Borton.

Preceded in death by parents, three sisters and one brother.
