JACOB ARNEY DIES AT HOME AT ALBION

Jacob Arney, a life-long resident of Marshall county, died Sunday morning at his home at Albion of heart disease. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Estel funeral home in charge of Rev. D. W. Thompson of Marshalltown and burial will be in the Bethel Grove cemetery. Mr. Arney was born on a farm three miles northwest of Albion in the Bethel Grove neighborhood, Nov. 14, 1857, the eldest son of the late Andrew and Almira Arney, pioneers who came to Marshall County in 1849. He married Della Ferguson at Albion, March 14, 1880, and to this union were born two daughters, Mrs. N. F. Mighell of Clearwater, Fla., and Miss Grace Arney of South Dakota, both of whom survive. Mrs. Arney died several years ago. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. John Small and Mrs. Anna Nyce of Liscomb, Mrs. H. S. Sickman of St. Anthony, W. M. Arney of Oregon City, Ore., and J. I. Arney of Marshalltown. He was a life-long member of the old Bethel Grove Christian church five miles northwest of Albion.
