WALTER JENSEN, 86

Walter Jensen, 86, of 101 1/2 N. 2nd St., died Wednesday, April 8 at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center of natural causes. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Salvation Army Chapel in Marshalltown with Maj. Craig Stoker officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Grove in rural Liscomb. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until service time at the Salvation Army Chapel. A memorial fund may be directed to the Salvation Army. He was born Oct. 24, 1911 in Marshalltown to Sam and Jennie Jensen. He was reared and educated in Marshalltown. He married Lillian Mills on April 12, 1941 in Princeton, Mo. Following their marriage they lived in St. Anthony, then moved to Liscomb in 1949, and moved back to Marshalltown in 1992. He was in the sanitation business for Hardin and Grundy counties. Survivors include a daughter Sharon Kelm of Guntersville, Ala., a step-daughter, Betty (Mrs. Elvin) Hazen of Liscomb, nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, a sister, and a step-son, Robert.
