L. W. ISGRIG DEAD AT 60; RITES MONDAY

Lester W. Isgrig, 60, Garwin, died at Mercy Hospital Friday afternoon where he had been a patient since July 13. He had been in failing health since April. Born May 14, 1906, in Superior, Iowa, he was the son of Edwin and Sybil Shepard Isgrig. He received his education in the area of his birth and grew to manhood there. From 1923 to 1926 he served in the U. S. Army. On April 2, 1929, he was married at Albion to Nellie Marie Ewalt a the couple had always made its home in Marshall and Tama County and in Garwin for the last six years. For 29 years Mr. Isgrig was employed at Lennox Industries and was assistant foreman in the tin shop. Surviving are his widow, a son and three daughters, William F. Isgrig, Marshalltown, Mrs. Gary (Charlotte) Cooper, Route 2, Mrs. Harlan (Phyllis) Yeanan, Des Moines and Mrs. Ronald (Judy) Peterson, Des Moines. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, his father Edwin Isgrig of Cherokee and a sister and three brothers, Mrs. Daymond Eubanks, Estherville, Elvy, Glenfield, N.D., Doran and Vern Isgrig, both in California. Preceding him in death were his mother and a brother. Services will be held from the Estel-Perrin Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 p.m., Monday in charge of the Rev. Howard Marty, pastor of the First Evangelical U. B. Church. Burial will be in Liscomb Cemetery.
