Gerald Ronald "Bud" Ewalt was born on Friday; April 22, 1949 in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa. Gerald was the son of: Harry Ronald and Mildred Arlene (Robinson) Ewalt. Gerald attended school in Liscomb; Marshall County, Green Mountain; Marshall County and Conrad; Grundy County, Iowa graduating from the Conrad High School. Bud farmed all of his life and enjoyed being the “community mechanic.” He loved helping out others, no matter what time of the day. He will be fondly remembered for his skills as a craftsman on the farm, his passion for farming, sense of humor, and love of his family. Gerald Ronald "Bud" Ewalt, age 61, passed away on on Thursday night; April 7, 2011 at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center in Marshalltown, Iowa. Those left to mourn his passing are: His sisters: Lavonne (Duane) Zimmerman of Urbandale; Polk County, Iowa, Faye (Donnie) Zimmerman of Stratford; Marathon County, Wisconsin, Helen (Allen) Tysma of East Moline; Rock Island County, Illinois and Arlene (Don) Nehring of Kellogg; Jasper County, Iowa, as well as many treasured nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends. In death, he has now rejoined his parents and his brother: Bob (Jane) who passed away in 1985. May they rest in peace. May God bless his memory and give strength to those that mourn. Visitation will be from: 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday; April 11, 2011 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday; April 12, 2011 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Immediately following, there will be a time of fellowship and refreshments with the family prior to the funeral procession leaving for the interment at the Liscomb Cemetery in Liscomb; Marshall County, Iowa.
