Marshalltown Times-Republican, December 13, 1977:

John W. Warren, a native of Laurel died recently and was buried Monday in the Jackson Township Cemetery, near Eldora.

Mr. Warren was born Oct. 20, 1906, in Laurel, the son of Robert and Carrie Bulfer Warren. He graduated from Clemons High School and was employed in the Marshalltown Post Office until 1945 when he went into business in Brainerd, Minn. In 1951 he moved to Waterloo and worked in construction and carpentry until his retirement.

In 1931 he was married to Thelma Ellison and she survives, living at 187 Toneff Dr., Elk Run Heights, Waterloo. Also surviving are three children, Delores (Mrs. William) Westerbeck, West Lafayette, Ind.; Harold Warren, Los Angeles, Calif.; and Darene Ownsby, Urbandale. Also, a brother, Edwin Warren, Fort Dodge. Mr. Warren was an active member of the Moose Lodge in Waterloo.
