Mrs. Edwards Dies After Long Illness Sunday

Mrs. John Edwards of the Bethel Grove community died at her home Sunday evening after an extended illness. She had been in failing health for the last two years. She was born May 18, 1892 in Iowa Township, the daughter of E. S. and Emily Arney Crouse. Her education was received in the schools of Marshall County and she had been a lifelong resident of Central Iowa. ON JAN. 12, 1917 she was married to John E. Edwards and the couple had since farmed in Marshall and Hardin County, living on the present farm for the last 21 years. Surviving besides the widower is a son Delos Edwards of near Albion. Also surviving are three granddaughters, her aged mother, Mrs. Emily Crouse of Marshalltown, two brothers and two sisters, C. F. Crouse, Miss Chloris Crouse and Mrs. Hazel Dawson all of Marshalltown and Rev. Carl Crouse of Afton. Preceding her in death were her father and a brother. Services will be at the Estel Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday in charge of the Rev. H. S. Parks. Burial will be in Bethel Grove Cemetery.
