Pioneer Resident of County Dies Here

Mrs. Elvira M. Elsberry, 7 miles south of Marshalltown, died at 3:00 a. m. Saturday at the Deaconess Hospital where she had been a patient for one week. She had been in failing health for several years.
Mrs. Elsberry was born Elvira Hilsabeck, April 30, 1859, three and a half miles south of this city, a daughter of William H. and Matilda R. Hilsabeck, pioneer residents of Marshall County. Mrs. Elsberry had spent her entire life in Marshall County. She was married to T. J. Elsberry September 12, 1905, in Marshalltown.
Surviving are the widower; one brother, E. H. Hilsabeck, Cresbard, South Dakota; two sisters, Mrs. Matilda Turner of Albion and Mrs. Ardelia Bellus of this city; seven step-children; W. W. Elsberry of Hartington, Nebraska, J. F. Elsberry of Marshalltown, Elmer Elsberry of Grand Junction, Colorado, P. S. Elsberry of Brunswick, Nebraska, Frank Elsberry of Texas, Ed A. Elsberry of Neligh, Nebraska, J. F. Elsberry of Marshalltown and Mrs. W. A. Sommerlot of Albion. Six brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
The body will remain at the Estel Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Monday. Burial will be in the Timer Creek Cemetery. The family has requested no flowers be sent, it was announced.
