David Hilsabeck Dead

Well-known Farmer Victim of Double Pneumonia at Deaconess

Death due to double pneumonia came to David Hilsabeck an old resident of Timber Creek Township, at 4:20 Wednesday afternoon at the Deaconess Hospital. Mr. Hilsabeck had been sick only a short time.
David I. Hilsabeck was born January 27, 1846, in Owen County, Indiana, and came to Iowa with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Hilsabeck. He lived with his parents on a farm south of the city until July 25, 1871, when he was united in marriage with Miss Carrie E. Williams. He then went to live on a farm west of Gilman, and thirteen years ago moved to a farm five miles south of this city. Mrs. Hilsabeck lives at 615 Boone Street.
Mr. Hilsabeck is survived by four children: Alfred R. Hilsabeck, of Oelwein; Mrs. Bertha McClain, Bird Island, Minnesota; Mrs. Allie Renner, Madison, South Dakota; and Harvey L. Hilsabeck, of Green Mountain. There are also five brothers and three sisters. They are: Elvin, of Liscomb; John and Isaac, of Timber Creek; Frank, of Lamoille; E. H., of Redfield, South Dakota; Mrs. Matilda Turner, Liscomb; Mrs. John Elsberry, Timber Creek Township; and Mrs. Ella Bellus, Marshalltown.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from the Seventh Day Adventist Church, corner Church and Seventh Streets, in charge of Rev. G. E. Marsh. The church will be open to friends at 12:30.
