WILLIAM H. HORSLEY DEAD

Paralysis Causes Death After Illness of Long Duration

William H. Horsley, aged 72, an old resident of the city, died at his home 109 North Fifteenth street, at 7 o'clock Thursday night of paralysis, from which he had been suffering since last December. He was born in Burlington, Vt., Aug. 4, 1843. Jan. 15, 1864, he enlisted in Company D, Third New York Light Artillery, at Auburn, N.Y., with the rank of sergeant and was discharged at Newburn, S.C., June 22, 1865. He had been twice married. His first wife died at Marengo forty years ago, and on May 1, 1895, he was united in marriage at Milwaukee with Miss Hattie Pursel, who survives him. He has no children living, altho an adopted daughter, Grace Horsley, who was here with him at one time, lives in Chicago. He was admitted to the soldiers' home for the first time March 9, 1890. From then until May 8, 1916, he was readmitted and discharged five times.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the residence at 2 o'clcok in charge of Rev. H.M. Babin, and burial will be in Riverside.
