Mrs. Biersborn, Longtime Area Resident, Dies

LISCOMB --- (Special) --- Services for Mrs. George (Ida) Biersborn, 84, longtime Liscomb area resident, will be in the Church of Christ at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Gordon Sorenson will officiate with burial in Liscomb Cemetery. MRS. BIERSBORN died Thursday in a hospital at Leesburg, Fla. She had made her home for the last two years in Leesburg with her son, Garrett. Born June 28, 1880, the daughter of early Liscomb area residents, her parents were Lorenzo L. and Thursa Hauser Bixby. She was reared and educated in the Liscomb school and attended Drake University, Des Moines, majoring in music. SHE TAUGHT music for more than 30 years and directed the church choir for many years. The last charter member of Grumme Rebekah Lodge she married the Rev. Biersborn June 22, 1909, in Liscomb. Survivors beside her son are a daughter Mrs. John (Ardith) Martin, Des Moines, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers Dr. R. L. Bixby, Union, and Lowell L. Bixby, Liscomb. Friends may call Biersborn Funeral Home at Union for further information.
