Mrs. Cora Bixby Dies at Liscomb

Mrs. Cora Bixby, one of the best known women in the Liscomb community, died at 10:45 this morning at her home of heart trouble. She had been in poor health for the past year but only had been bedfast for the past four days. Cora Edella Rolston was the daughter of Isaac and Sarah Ann Rolston who came to Liscomb in 1855 among the earliest settlers. She was born Feb. 25, 1868 on a farm near Liscomb and had spent her entire life in the Liscomb community. She was very active in community affairs and active in the Reformed church and the Rebekah lodge. She also was a member of the Jennings class. She was married to William M. Bixby in September, 1886. Mrs. Bixby was the last surviving member of her her father's family. She is survived by her son, Isaac Vernard Bixby, with whom she made her home, on the old Rolston homestead, and four granddaughters, Evelyn, Sarah, Nadine and Muriel. While funeral arrangements will not be made pending word from relatives from a distance, the service will be held from the home and burial will be in the family lot in the Albion cemetery.
