Isaac Bixby, 65, Dies; Life-Long Liscomb Resident

Liscomb ---(Special) --- Isaac Vernard Bixby, 65, lifelong resident of Liscomb and a member of one of the pioneer families of the community, died Wednesday afternoon of a heart attack. Death occurred in Marshalltown, where Mr. Bixby had gone with his wife. Altho he had been in failing health for more than two years, his death was unexpected and he and his wife were planning to leave Monday for Denver to attend a reunion of relatives. MR. BIXBY WAS the only son of William M. and Cora Rolston Bixby and was born on the farm on the south edge of Liscomb where he lived all his life. He attended the Liscomb schools and took an active part in all community affairs. He was a deacon in the Liscomb Christian church, and was a member of the Becker lodge No. 635, A.F. and A.M., and the I.O.O.F. and Grumme Rebekah lodges of Liscomb and the Albion Eastern Star. HE WAS MARRIED Nov. 27, 1913 to Ruth Given of Conrad, who survives him. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Johnson of Rock Island, Ill., Mrs, Richard Elliott of Albion, Mrs. Warren Richards of Binghampton, N. Y., and Mrs. Robert Slinker of Conrad. There are 14 grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Liscomb Christian church with the Rev. T. M. Walton of Stanhope, a former pastor of the congregation, in charge. Burial will be in the Liscomb cemetery with the Masonic and I.O.O.F. lodges in charge. The body is at the Biersborn funeral home in Union.
