----------
Well-Known Old Resident of Liscomb Community Succumbs

Death at 12:35 this morning claimed Daniel D. Bueghly, 75, for more than sixty-five years a resident of the Liscomb community, and a member of a well-known pioneer family. Mr. Bueghly had been in failing health following a stroke of paralysis four years ago, and had gradually grown weaker, altho he had been confined to his bed for only the past four weeks. Mr. Bueghly was born Feb. 26, 1856, in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, and came to Iowa with his parents, David and Elizabeth Bueghly, in the fall of 1865, settling on the old Caleb Tompkins farm, a mile west and a half mile south of Liscomb, now owned by Mrs. Sade Bueghly. He attended the Liscomb schools and was a pupil of the late J. B. Jennings. He married Miss Ada Belle Weatherly, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Weatherly, Oct. 6, 1878, and their married life was spent on farms in the Liscomb community. In 1889 Mr. Bueghly purchased the farm in Grundy county, a mile north and two miles east of Liscomb, now occupied by his son, Harry Bueghly, where he lived until moving to Liscomb twenty years ago. Mrs. Bueghly died Feb. 17, 1901, and on March 23, 1902, Mr. Bueghly was married to Mrs. Almeda Fiscus, who survives him. He is also survived by three children, Mrs. J. W. Mason, of Webster City; Oren E. Bueghly, of Glendale, Calif., and Harry Bueghly, of Conrad. A foster daughter, Mrs. Jesse May, lives near Marshalltown. A son, Frederick E. Bueghly, died Nov. 21, 1918, at Estherville, and a daughter, Emma Viola, died Aug. 4, 1880. Daniel Bueghly was one of a family of three brothers, Ephraim D. Bueghly passing away thirty years ago, and Elias Bueghly, the surviving brother, living in Liscomb. Mr. Bueghly was one of the loyal workers in the Liscomb Christian church and had been a member of the church board for many years, and was honored by being elected to a life membership as elder of the church. He was a good man in the community, honest and dependable, and had a wide circle of friends. Funeral services will be held from the Liscomb Christian church Thursday afternoon at 2:30, preceded by a prayer service at the house at 1:30. The services will be in charge of Rev. W. J. Hastie, of Earlham, a former pastor of the Liscomb congregation, assisted by Rev. George Biersborn, of Liscomb. Burial will be on the family lot in the Liscomb cemetery.
