David E. Weatherly, Real Pioneer, Dead

David E. Weatherly, one of the oldest residents of Marshall county, died at 4:30 this morning at the home of his son, Earl Weatherly, at Bangor. Death was caused by cancer. Mr. Weatherly was born Oct. 6, 1952, in the Bethel Grove neighborhood, the first son of T. R. and Catherine Weatherly. He was a resident of this county during his entire life with the exception of a few years which he spent in Canada. He was married Dec. 18, 1871, to Miss Tabitha Arnold. Mr. and Mrs. Weatherly were the parents of twelve children. Mrs. Weatherly died Oct. 13, 1925, and since that time Mr. Weatherly has made is home with his son Earl. Four daughters, Mrs. Belle Mills, of Clontors, Minn.; Mrs. Bertha Lewis, of Vancouver, C. B.; Mrs. Blanche Marshall of Vancouver; and Mrs. Pearl McAllister, of Czar, Alberta; four sons, Edward, Czar, Alberta; James W., of Marinette, Wis.; Earl, of Bangor, and Leonard, of Tama; two brothers, George of Nevis, Minn., and John, of Doon, and two sisters, Mrs. Sade Bueghly, of Liscomb, and Mrs. Elmer Boyd, of Liscomb, survive. Forty-seven grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren also survive. A son Luther died in May, 1931; a daughter, Bessie, died in March, 1927, and two daughters, Dora and Gertrude, died in infancy. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock from the Earl Weatherly home at Bangor, with Rev. George Biersborn, of Liscomb, in charge.
