CARLETON TUCKER RITES WEDNESDAY

Carleton A. Tucker, 76, of 111 N. 13th Ave., died Saturday afternoon at Marshalltown Area Community Hospital. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Charles Livingston in charge. Friends may call at the Pursel-Davis Funeral Home until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the Heart Fund. Born Dec. 17, 1906, in Eldora, he was a son of Louis B. and Nellie Lockard Tucker. He was married to Jessie Logan on May 27, 1937, in Marshalltown and she survives. Also surviving are four children; Jacqueline (Mrs. John) Anderson, Fullerton, Calif.; Rochelle Smith, Des Moines; Carleton Tucker, Council Bluffs, and Carla Tucker, Marshalltown; six grandchildren and two brothers, George of Reidland, Ky., and Robert of Lansing, Minn. He was preceded in death by an infant grandson and an infant granddaughter. Reared and educated in the Liscomb area, he was graduated from Liscomb High School and lived in Waterloo before coming to Marshalltown in 1937. He was employed as a letter carrier with the U. S. Post Office for 27 years. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Tucker was a life member of the American Legion Post 46 and the Marshalltown Senior Citizens.
