Asa Carter, Old Taylor Township Farmer, Dies in Kansas.

Mrs. Thomas G. Collins, 408 1/2 North Third Street, has received word from Sylvia, Kansas, announcing the death fo her brother, Asa Carter, which occurred Wednesday. Death was due to a stroke of apolpexy sustained a week before.

Asa Carter was born Jan. 7, 1831, in Morgan County, Indiana. He was a resident of this county from 1863 to 1871, living on a farm in Taylor township. In 1854 Mr. Carter married Miss Martha Plummer, who survives him with three daughters and three sons. The daughters are Mrs. Ella Albert, Mrs. Addie Bass, and Mrs. Rhoda Short, and three sons are, Levi Allen, and John. Five sisters also survive, in the persons of Misses Susannah and Anna of this city and Mrs. P. L. Collins of Taylor township.
