Mrs. Kline, 74, Dies Sunday

State Center Special Mrs. Minnie Kline, a resident of this community since 1928, died Sunday afternoon at the Stone Nursing Home where she had been a patient for seven months. She had been in failing health for five years.
Mrs. Kline was born in Germany Nov. 15, 1881, the daughter of Conrad and Fredericka Baker (Boeke) Cook, and came to the United States when a small child. The family settled in Jasper County and she was married Oct. 17, 1912 near Newton to Fred Kline (Klein).
After farming three years they moved to Melbourne and then to State Center, Mrs. Kline was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a son, John of Mason City, a daughter Mrs. Wallace Klein of Hayward, Calif., one step daughter, Mrs. Ralph Hadley of Adrian, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Chris Witte of Melbourne and Mrs. Alden Connelly of Gales Creek, Ore., 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister, one brother, one stepdaughter and a son in infancy.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. F. J. Braun in charge. Burial will be in the Melbourne Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Wensel Funreal Home until 10 a.m. Wednesday.

There are two spellings for Klein, as her husband, Fred, changed his last name from Klein to Kline.
