MRS. PETERS DIES FRIDAY

Mrs. Frieda S. Peters, 73, 601 E. South St., died early Friday at Marshalltown Area Community Hospital, and services have been set for Tuesday. Friends may call at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Rev. Darrell Mitchell will officiate at the funeral, at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Pursel-Davis Chapel, burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Peters was born July 2, 1904, near Melbourne, the daughter of Jacob and Bertha Wiest Schelker. She was married on Oct. 30, 1926, to Lawrence B. Peters in Melbourne, and Mr. Peters died in May, 1977.

Survivors include two sons, Loren, Marshalltown, and Leonard, Marion; five grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers.

Mrs. Peters was reared and educated near Melbourne, graduating from Rhodes High School in 1922. She taught at the Old Hurricane School, and also during the World War II teacher shortage. In 1950 she moved with Mr. Peters to Marshalltown, and she had been employed at the Iowa Veterans Home.
