Mrs. Petermeier Will Be Buried in Tuesday Rite

Melbourne Special Services for Matilda Petermeier, 81, who died Saturday afternoon, 12 Jan. 1952, at the home of her son, Raymond, south of town will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rhodes with the Rev. Ronald Axen in charge. Burial will be in the Melbourne Cemetery.
The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at the Ryan Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Mrs. Petermeier was born Oct. 25, 1878 near Melbourne, the daughter of Anthony and Caroline Gauch. She was married to August Petermeier Oct. 9, 1901 at State Center and they farmed east of Melbourne for many years before retiring and moving to town. Since Mr. Petermeier's death in 1945, she has divided her time with her children.
Surviving are three sons and three daughters. They are Mrs. Martin Dreyer, Alden; Mrs. Arlo Hinegardner, Montour and Mrs. Lawerence Nason, Raymond, Harvey and Harry Petermeier, all of Melbourne. There are eight grandchildren.
Two brothers, John Gauch of Baxter and Louie Gauch of State Center, and a sister, Mrs. George Smith of Baxter, also survive. Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
