Mrs. Petermeier, Melbourne, Dies

Linda (Mrs. Harvey) Petermeier, 78, of Melbourne died Friday, 28 Dec. 1984, afternoon at her home. Services were held this Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the St. John United Church of Christ in Melbourne, with Rev. Jerry Stevenson of Baxter officiating. Burial was at the Melbourne Cemetery with the Ryan Davis Funeral Home in Melbourne in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Petermeier was born Dec. 10, 1906 in Vienna Township to Bert and Sophia Schwarten Harders. She was married to Henry Landt in 1932, and he preceded her in death. She married Harvey Petermeier on Nov. 29, 1952, in Marshalltown and he survives.
She was reared and educated in the Gladbrook area and lived there until 1952. She assisted her husband in farming in the Melbourne area until 1960, when they moved to Melbourne.
Mrs. Petermeier was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Melbourne and the American Legion Auxilaiary, Hauser-Diggins Unit No. 161.
Surviving besides her widower is a son, Larry Landt of Melbourne, two grandchildren, and three sisters and two brothers. Irene Busch of Waterloo, Erma Storjohann of Gladbrook, Gladys (Mrs. Ray) Koch of Conrad, Clarence Harders of Cedar Falls and Marvin Harders of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by one brother and sister.
Bearers at the Monday services were John and Warren Soorholtz, Don Bosma, Claude Larrick, Herb Klaat and Lawerence Halter.
