Funeral services for Arlo Hinegardner, 87, of Toledo and formerly of Montour were held Tuesday, April 6, 1999, from Henderson-Overton Funeral Home, Toledo. Rev. Larry Hoffman, pastor of Grace Believers Church, Toledo, officiating.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo.
Casket bearers included Brad Deutsch, Todd Hinegardner, David Hinegardner, Brian VanBeek, Terry Hinegardner, and Richard VanBeek.
Born Oct. 21, 1911, near Montour, he was the son of Willis and Anna Spinler Hinegardner.
He received his education in a country school and graduated from Montour High School.
Sept. 6, 1934, he was united in marriage to Caroline Petermeier in the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They made their home near Montour all their married life. They operated Sportsman Lake, North Star Fish Hatchery and North Star Gameland.
Following Caroline's death on Dec. 16, 1978. Arlo continued to make his home near Montour. For the past year, he has been a resident of Grandview Acres in Toledo, where he died Saturday April 3.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Caroline; one daughter, Donna on Jan. 27, 1995; one brother and one sister.
Survivors include his son, Larry and his wife, Carlene of Montour; one daughter, Karen (Mrs. Richard) Deutsch of Baxter; one brother, Oris of Montour; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
