Alva Wilsterman Dies Thursday At 83

Services for Alva Wilsterman, 83, Tallcorn Towers, who died there Thursday, have been set for 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Pursel Davis Chapel. The Rev. Keith Selberg of Melbourne will be in charge and burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Wilsterman was born July 30, 1901, in Melbourne, the son of Henry and Minnie Petermeier Wilsterman. He spend his early life in Melbourne and was graduated from the high school there.
He was a self employed carpenter for many years, then went to work at Lennox Industries Inc. in 1942. He retired in 1966.
He was married to Alice P. Bousselot May 24, 1926, in Clinton. She preceded him in death in April of 1965.
Survivors include two sons, David, Belmont, Calif., and Paul, Melbourne; two sisters, Bernice (Mrs. Ed) Kracht, Marshalltown, and Myrtle (Mrs. Walter) Osten, Gladbrook, and two grandchildren. Craig and Barbara Wilsterman.
Mr. Wilsterman and his wife made their home in Melbourne for many years before moving to Marshalltown in 1954.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and the Full Moon Lodge, AF&AM. Memorials may be directed to the St. John Church.
Friends may call at the Pursel Davis Funeral Home after noon on Saturday.
