Myrtle I. Osten, 87, of Gladbrook, died May 14, 1990, at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center of natural causes. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Geottsch Perrin Funeral Home with the Rev. John Saxton, pastor of Peace United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Melbourne Cemetery.
A memorial fund is being established. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Born Jan. 9, 1903 in Melbourne, she is the daughter of Henry N. and Minnie C. Petermeier Wilsterman. She received her education in Melbourne.
On Sept. 5, 1923 she married Walter D. Osten and they resided in Melbourne until moving to Gladbrook in 1938.
She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Women's Fellowship of the church, Grandmother's Club and Eastern Star.
Preceding her in death were her husband in 1961, a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister and two brothers.
Survivors include her son, Dale Osten, and a daughter, Majel (Mrs. Elmer) Eilers, both of Gladbrook, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
