W.H. Petermeier Dies At Age 84; Rites Tuesday
Born 2 Feb 1877 Died 24 Feb. 1961
Melbourne Special Services for William (Wilhelm) Henry Petermeier, 84, who died Friday evening at Evangelical Hospital in Marshalltown will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the St. John United Church of Christ with the Rev. Louis Grossen in charge. Burial will be in Melbourne Cemetery.
The body is at the Ryan Davis Funeral Home.
Mr. Petermeier was born Feb. 2, 1877 at Baxter, son of Fred and Charlotte Baker (Boeke) Petermeier, and was reared near Baxter. He farmed most of his life in the Melbourne area.
Surviving are the widow, the former Grace McIlrath whom he married Dec. 22, 1920 at Gilman, and one daughter, Mrs. Wayne Wolgamott, also of Melbourne.
Also surviving are three grandchildren and three sisters and a brother. They are Mrs. Louisa Polhamus of Eau Claire, Wis.; Mrs. Mary Steinberger of Newton, Mrs. Lena McMahon of Marshalltown and Charles Petermeier of Tama. He was preceded in death by a son in infancy, five brothers and three sisters.
