Mrs. Petermeier Dies Tuesday; Services Friday
Melbourne Special Mrs. Grace Petermeier, 80, died 6:40 a.m. Tuesday at Westwood Nursing Home in Marshalltown where she had been a patient several months.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John United Church of Christ with the Rev. Louis Grossen in charge. Burial will be in Melbourne Cemetery.
She was born April 15, 1885 in County Atrim, Ireland, daughter of Robert and Jennie McIlrath. She was reared there, coming to Gilman in 1910 where she was married Dec. 22, 1920, to William Henry Petermeier. They farmed in the Laurel and Melbourne area until retiring and moving to town in 1942.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Wolgamott of Melbourne. There are three grandchildren, Jayne, Robert, and Mark.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961 and also eight brothers and sisters and a son in infancy.
Mrs. Petermeier was a member of St. John United Church of Christ.
