Mrs. Flora Dies in West
Born 12 Dec. 1908 died 24 Sept 1963

Melbourne Special Services are pending at the Ryan Davis Funeral Home for Mrs. Benton Flora, who died, Tuesday morning at her home in Carmichael, Calif. She had been in failing health for several years.
She was born Velma Lanning, Dec. 12, 1908, near here, daughter of Earl J. and Bertha Halter Lanning. She was graduated from Melbourne High School in 1927, attended Iowa State Teachers College and later taught in the county schools for three years.
On May 16, 1931, she was married to Benton Flora in Waterloo and she survives with a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Goodmanson of Carmichael, and two grandsons.
Also surviving are two brothers and a sister, Vernon and Max Lanning, Mrs. Merwyn Van Dyke, all of Melbourne.
Her parents and a sister, Helen, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Flora was a member of the Melbourne Christian Church.
