Charles McMahon, Laurel Farmer, Dies
Born 29 Jan 1883 died 6 Oct 1936

Laurel Oct. 8 Special
Charles McMahon, widely known farmer living southwest of Laurel, passed away Tuesday night at his home. Death was due to embolism and complications.
Funeral services will be held from the Boyd Funeral Home at Baxter Friday afternoon at 2 and interment will be at Restland Cemetery near Baxter.
Charles McMahon was born Jan. 29, 1883 a son of Daniel S. and Sarah E. McMahon. He spent his entire life in the neighborhood in which he died. On May 8, 1902 he married Lena Petermeier. To this union eight children were born, Richard L. and Dan C. of Marshalltown, Mrs. Mildred Henning of Newton, and Lois, Keith, Kenneth, Dale and Dolores, at home. All of whom together with the widow survive. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mamie Auger, and three brothers, Clint, John and Henry of Melbourne.
