State Center Native Dies At Waterloo

Gladys (Mrs. Clifford) Wilson of Waterloo, daughter of Mrs. Ruth Walkup of 208 N. 3rd St. died Saturday at Marsahlltown Area Community Hospital. She had been ill since January. Services are being arranged by the Oppold Funeral Home of Wateloo.
Mrs. Wilson was born at State Center Oct. 25, 1928, to James Clinton and Ruth M. Pothast Walkup, graduated from State Center High School and married Ronald Phille Aug. 8,1949. Until his death in July 1963, they farmed near Laurel. On Nov. 29, 1975, she was married to Wilson, of Waterloo, and they made their home at 6469 Logan Ave. there. Surviving besides her husband and mother are two sisters, Marylin (Mrs. Bill) Eglston of Marshalltown and Margery (Mrs. John) Clifton of Rittman, Ohio; four brothers, Glenn Wallkup of Des Moines, Leland and Ervin of State Center and John of Marysville, Ohio; two step daughters, Mrs. Ed Craig and Mrs. Dale Paulsen, both of Waterloo, and seven step grandchildren.
