Marge R. Clifton, 76, of Rittman died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at her residence.
She was born on March 23, 1931 in State Center, IA to James C. and Minnie R. (Pothast) Walkup and lived in Rittman since 1958. She was a graduate of Iowa State University in 1953 with a Bachelor's Degree in Botany. She was a homemaker and also was a Census Interviewer for the U. S. Bureau of Census. She was an active member of Milton Presbyterian Church where she was a former deacon, and a member of the Presbyterian Women's Organization. Marge was a member of the Junior Mother's Club, and Ohio Organization of Garden Clubs.
She was a volunteer and instructor in the AARP Tax-Aide Program. She enjoyed square and round dancing, traveling, sewing and gardening.
Surviving are her husband, John B. Clifton; children, Emily (Vil) Boggs of Stow, Donald Clifton of West Salem, and Ray (Sandra) Clifton of Wooster; grandchildren, Dianna Clifton, Katherine Clifton, Tiffany Mascellino, Leia Boggs, and Heidi Miller; brothers, Glenn (Rosemary) Walkup of Des Moines, IA, and John (Judy) Walkup of Marysville, OH.; sister, Marylin (Bill) Egleston of Marshalltown, IA.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Milton Presbyterian Church, 250 North St. Rittman with the Rev. Dr. Richard A. Lapehn officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at Rittman Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour before services at the church Friday.
