Fritz was born Dec. 19, 1915, the eldest son of Emil W. and Ida (Lehmeier) Brinkmeyer. He was baptized and confirmed in Zion United Church of Christ in Hubbard. Fritz grew up on the family farm six miles southwest of Hubbard with his brothers: Gerald “Orv”, Francis, Dennis and Gary. He attended rural school at District #1 Concord Township, later graduating from Hubbard High School in 1934. After graduation he farmed with his father. On Sept. 30, 1939, Fritz was united in marriage to Yvonne Fasse of Storm Lake, Iowa. After their marriage, they lived three years on the Vern Dubberke farm two miles north of Garden City, Iowa. When Fritz’s aunt and uncle, Ernest and Lillie Siekmann, retired to their home in Hubbard, they rented their farm to Fritz. On Feb. 23 1943, Fritz, Yvonne and Ronald moved to the Siekmann farm two miles west of Hubbard, which they later purchased. They are the parents of two sons, Ronald and Marc.

Fritz was a member of Zion United Church of Christ where he served on the Board of Christian Education, was Sunday School Superintendent and served two terms on the church council. He was a member of the Hubbard Lions Club and was a Tipton Township Trustee.

He considered himself most fortunate and uniquely blessed for sharing his heritage, the many friends, relatives and the beautiful way of life in rural America.

Those thankful for having shared his life include two sons, Ron Brinkmeyer of Ashbrook Assisted Living in Iowa Falls and Marc (Vicki) Brinkmeyer of Sandpoint, Idaho; three grandsons: Todd, Gregg and Bryan; one great-granddaughter; three brothers: Francis of Rock Island, Ill., Dennis of Windsor Heights and Gary of Eldora; special companion, Sharon Kissinger of Hubbard; along with many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Yvonne and brother Orv.
