Frank Winters, Lifelong City Resident, Dies

Frank A. Winters, 86, 1302 N. 3rd Ave., died atthe Evangelical Hospital Sunday morning at 10:33 a.m, where he had been a patient for the last three weeks.

Born Aug. 13, 1868, in Marion township, he was the son of Joseph and Mary Conger Winters. He received his education in th rural schools of Marshall County.

On Feb. 19, 1891 he was married to Margaret Mills and she preceded him in death in 1907. A son, Ralph, also preceded him in death.

Mr Winters was a lifetime resident of Marshall County and for several years was employed in the gas department of the Iowa Electric Light and Power Co.

Surviving are six children, Bert, of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Pear Miller of Collinville, Ill., Lyle of Vallejo, Calif., Roy, Ray, and Edward Winters, all of Marshalltown. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, a brother, Fred, and a sister, Mrs. E. D. Batesole, both of Marshalltown.

Services will be held from Estel-Perrin Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in charge of the Rev. Phillip R. Anderson, pastor of the Baptist Temple Bral will be in the Iowa River Cemetery.
