Pat "Pat" “Fat Jack” Burroughs, 51, of Liscomb, died Wednesday, January 30th, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Services celebrating Fat Jack’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2nd, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church with Fr. Don Czapla and Deacon Gary Pusillo officiating. Cremation rites will follow services with private interment at a later date in the Liscomb Cemetery. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow at the Liscomb Community Center. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Memorials may be directed to the family. Please honor Fat Jack’s life by attending his services in casual attire. Born Patrick Burroughs on September 30th, 1956, in Marshalltown, he was one of two sons born to Don “Sam” and Patricia Ann (DuFour) Burroughs. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School’s Class of 1976. Pat was employed for the past 27 years at Concrete, Inc. in Marshalltown and enjoyed socializing and the company of others. On December 27th, 1980, he was united in marriage to Natalie Allen in Marshalltown. They shared 27 years of marriage before his untimely death on Wednesday. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Natalie, son Ed and daughter Lucy all of Liscomb, brother Mike (Joni) Burroughs of Marshalltown/Albion, mother-in-law Ellen Allen of Urbandale, nephews Jesse Ryan and Cory Burroughs, his in-laws: Nancy (John) McKinstry of Iowa City and their children Libby Tucker, Cassie (Mike) Goedkin and Jamie McKinstry (fiancé Justin Davis); Ron Allen of Winston/Salem, NC, and children Eric, Leigh,; Emily (Jim) Duong of Des Moines, Amy, Andie and Elly; and Mark (Lisa) Allen of Johnston, and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his parents, his son, Sam (2001), his father-in-law Roy Allen and nephew, Casey Ryan.
